Double The World Record for Kaka

Manchester City intensified its pursuit of AC Milan midfielder Kaka on Thursday by increasing its offer to more than double the world record and has received permission to negotiate directly with the Brazilian player, Kaka.

And AC Milan announced on its TV channel that it is considering a new, higher bid reportedly worth up to €120 million ($157 million) for the 26-year-old former FIFA world player of the year.

"We are considering Kakà's offer, Manchester City have sent us their proposal," said Milan Channel director Mauro Suma. "Considering means we have not made a decision or accepted anything. We are not talking about a deal that's already been sealed. There are still hours and days to go."

As reportedly before that Manchester City offered a record $145 million to buy Kaka, had no the answer by Milan then The Citizen increased the offer up to ($157 million).
That sum more than doubles the previous world record, paid by Real Madrid to Juventus for a Frenchman, Zinedine Zidane, in 2001. It trebles the money the sheik paid, in cash, to Real Madrid for Robinho.

Kaka had responded during the week to the news that a Manchester City delegation had met with Milan's board.

"I have a contract with Milan until 2011 which had been extended to 2013. I have learned from friends who have left Milan how deeply they regretted doing so." kaka said. "I see myself as a symbol of Milan, the door is closed and only Milan can reopen it if they decide to sell me." his added.

Mere minutes ago Diogo, a confidant and occasional representative of Kaka, revealed that the Brazilian was edging closer to a move.

"Milan have given the OK, so now talks between Manchester City and the player can begin," he told the Associated Press. He also added "In the next few hours Kaka's father will depart for England and then we'll see what happens."

Clarence Seedorf has said that he would be surprised to see Kaka leave Milan for Manchester City this month.

"It would surprise me if he would leave in this month, but on the other hand, I don't know what the personal motivations could be from his side and also from the club." The Dutchman told Sky Sports News of the hyper-offer.

Clarence Seedorf, Kaka's Milan team-mate who has played for great Ajax and Real Madrid sides in the past, has revealed that Kaka's attitude has not changed in recent days, despite the chaos surrounding his future.
