Milan trying to win the Uefa Cup

A handball goal and a distraction takes further away from the top, but Milan's duty is always to aim high: there's a Champions League spot to consolidate and a Uefa Cup match to play. This is what Carlo Ancelotti said after Inter-Milan 2-1.

On the match - "We found ourselves 2-0 down after a well-played first half. We paid for a distraction of the referee on the first goal and our own distraction on the second goal. Too bad. I am satisfied with how we started the match because we played it exactly how we had prepared it. The only period where we didn't do well was after the 2-0, when Inzaghi came in and it took us ten minutes too long to organise ourselves. When it was 2-0 we risked a bit too much, then in the end we played well again."

On Inter's opening goal - "Adriano's goal? For me a handball is a handball. I don't know if Adriano did it on purpose, but it was clear and decisive because his header would not have gone in. Voluntary or not, for me a goal scored with an arm should be called off."

On the Scudetto race - "We are disappointed to have lost a derby, but I think that from the physical and football point of view the team is doing well. We are playing good football and we must continue like this. On Wednesday there's the Uefa Cup, which is an important objective. And even if in the league we won't finish first, we have to try to stay near the top. Objectives: consolidate the third place, aim for the second and get as close as possible to Inter. Then, trying to win the Uefa Cup. Scudetto lost? I only know that we always have to give our best. The road is long for everyone, including Inter. But now we must concentrate on Werder Bremen. From Thursday we will start thinking about the league again and the next match against CagliƤri."
