Super Pato
AC Milan Brazilian young striker Alexandre Pato has scored 28 goals, of which 24 in official matches. Since he's been playing at Milan, just over a year has passed since his official debut (it was 13 January 2008...), Alexandre Pato has scored 24 goals in official games in 415 games. It’s true that between the league, Champions League and Uefa Cup, his official appearances are 51, but if we calculate the effective minutes played (3324) the entire games of the Pato Branco talent are 37. An average higher then one goal every two games therefore.
During this season Alexandre Pato has scored 15 goals: eight at San Siro against Zurich, Lazio, Wolfsburg, Udinese, Fiorentina, Inter and Werder Bremen, seven away from home against Reggina, Torino, Juventus, Roma, Lazio and Sampdoria. His growth was therefore very awaited. Therefore, those of last seasons were not a flash in the pan or just episodes. Everything Milan had noticed from September to December 2007, when Patinho was only training, was true.
2008, and the first part of 2009, speak clearly: Pato had available at Milan nine and a half months of Italian football, from January to May and from September up to today. During these nine months there have been a couple of injuries (the longest one was in his ankle in Florence at the start of February) and the world tour during the Olympics and the various call-ups for the Brazilian national team. Good in these nine months: 9 goals in the league from January to May, 12 in the league plus 3 in the Uefa Cup from September up to today. In total 24 goals. Plus the two goals with the Brazilian national team: team "A" in London against Sweden and Olympic team in China against New Zealand, plus two more goals in a friendly with the Rossoneri shirt: in February against Rangers and yesterday in Doha against Al Sadd.
