Aly Cissokho Is Milan's First Signing
Milan-AC Milan have confirmed the signing of FC Porto French left back Aly Cissokho on a five year contract. And it’s believed he was signed for £15m.
The official club website said a deal was reached with the Portuguese champions late Saturday in what club president Adriano Galliani called "an intense negotiation" to sign a player who had raised the interest of many European clubs.
"We consider Cissokho to be a wonderful player and the proof of that is in the interest shown in him by some of the most important European clubs," AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani told the official club website Monday.
Cissokho, a 21-year-old left back with Senegalese origins, began his career in the French lower division before moving to Portuguese sides Vitoria Setubal and, in January, Porto
"I am very honoured to be here in Milan. This is a great chance for me because Milan are a great team," Cissokho said.
"I will give the best of me to satisfy everyone. I knew Milan were following me and this motivated me in matches in the championship and Champions League."
"It's difficult to say no to the Rossoneri. Milan had faith in me and I hope to repay them. There are many great champions here, obviously the departure of Kaka is heavy, but Milan remain among the great names in football."
He is Milan's first signing after the recent sale of Brazilian star Kaka to Real Madrid, the retirement of captain Paolo Maldini and the replacement of coach Carlo Ancelotti with Brazilian Leonardo.
