Beckham Hopes For Milan Return
David Beckham bid farewell to AC Milan on Sunday, but admits he hopes to be back again next season.
The England international helped the Rossoneri to a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in their final game of the 2008/09 campaign, booking a direct passage into the UEFA Champions League in the process.
He is now set to head back to MLS outfit Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of his loan spell at Giuseppe Meazza.
"Even though today we did not win anything, we have reached the direct qualification to the Champions League," commented the former Manchester United player after the match against Fiorentina to Milan Channel. "Winning today was fundamental, just like being in the Champions League."
Milan have already expressed an interest in taking him back to Serie A at that point, although rumours have suggested he could be tempted by a second stint in the Premier League.
"I cannot say anything more on my future compared to two weeks or two months ago," Beckham said.
"Now I go back to Los Angeles for the end of the season and then we will see what happens.
"My thanks goes to everyone, they have all been fantastic with me in making me feel like a part of the team from the first minute and I wish them all the best."
The 34-year-old player joined Milan last January and played a total of 18 league games.
